Clinical data strategy for paediatric clinical care.
New market ventures.
Background:
A leading manufacturer of smart baby monitors had already won dominant product-market fit in the direct-to-consumer space, scaling its computer-vision technology to track sleep and development for thousands of families.
Paediatric healthcare was a market they wanted to explore, but entering it meant shifting from consumer-centric value to clinical utility, a significant leap involving complex regulatory pathways and professional medical workflows. The challenge was identifying meaningful opportunities while accounting for the friction of clinical adoption, and translating "nursery data" into clinical evidence providers would trust.
Solution:
Collaborated with US-based pediatric care experts to develop 10 mutually exclusive go-to-market (GTM) scenarios leveraging baby monitor data and algorithms for clinical use. Defined the target workflows, technical architectures, and business models for each scenario, prioritizing them via an impact-vs-effort framework into a phased roadmap across regulated and non-regulated tracks
Impact:
The engagement provided a clear view of the healthcare landscape and the effort and investment entry would require. By demystifying regulatory and adoption hurdles, it provided the transparency to evaluate trade-offs, enabling informed where-to-play decisions and resource allocation toward the most viable routes to scale.
My Role:
I managed the engagement and orchestrated a cross-functional team of regulatory specialists, solution architects and design strategists. I led the market analysis and positioning, shaped the data strategy, and drove the impact-versus-effort prioritisation that framed the client's options.
